Ruth Beatson
Research Lead
Dr Ruth Beatson is Research & Knowledge Translation Lead for Restacking the Odds at the Centre for Community Child Health, Murdoch Children's Research Institute. She brings together research, data, and stakeholder expertise to support learning and improvement across systems that influence children's health, development and wellbeing. Working closely with communities, service providers, governments and researchers, Ruth helps translate evidence into practical insights that inform policy, planning, and action.
She brings substantial experience in experimental and mixed methods research, evidence synthesis, and knowledge translation. Her research interests have spanned antenatal care, child and family health services, early childhood education, parenting programs, school improvement, and adolescent mental health. Her primary focus is on strengthening Australia's early childhood service system and promoting equitable access to high-quality care.
Restacking the Odds is a national initiative led by the Centre for Community Child Health at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute, in collaboration with Bain & Company and Social Ventures Australia.
